Human and Technologies Cooperation: Are Humans Ready to Work Together with Tech?

Abstract

This paper examines the readiness of employees to adapt to the accelerating integration of artificial intelligence in the workplace, using the Technology Acceptance Model and Diffusion of Innovation Theory as guiding frameworks. Drawing on European labor market data, with particular attention to France, it identifies a divide between sectors that are rapidly adopting AI and those that remain vulnerable to displacement. Historical comparisons with previous technological revolutions demonstrate that while long-term gains are achievable, short-term disruptions are inevitable without proactive measures. The analysis emphasizes the distinctive nature of the AI revolution in terms of speed and cognitive impact, highlighting adaptability, algorithmic literacy, and critical thinking as key competencies. The paper concludes that individual preparedness must be complemented by institutional foresight to ensure resilience and social equity in the transition.
